In the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk region, an information campaign by Russians is gaining momentum regarding the consequences that local residents will experience if they refuse Russian passports.
The press service of the Luhansk OVA reported this on August 8.
In particular, the invaders threaten local residents that from January 1, 2025:
- will deprive them of the opportunity to receive social benefits specified by law and will completely block their access to free medical care;
- make the employment process as difficult as possible and increase the tax rate;
- will be considered as persons who are required to be on the territory of Russia in accordance with the requirements imposed on foreign citizens and stateless persons – that is, to register with the migration authorities or have a temporary residence permit or a residence permit.
