In the interbank market, the rate decreased by 12 kopecks to 41.14-41.16 UAH/dollar compared to the previous day’s close.
The National Bank of Ukraine set the official dollar-hryvnia exchange rate at 41.20 UAH/dollar on Tuesday, August 6, strengthening the national currency by 3 kopecks. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Monday, August 5.
Previously, the NBU lowered the official hryvnia exchange rate by 8.60 kopecks, to 41.225 UAH/dollar.
At the same time, the national currency fell sharply in price against the euro. According to the regulator, the official NBU exchange rate against the euro on August 6 was set at 45.15 UAH/euro, that is, the Hryvnia weakened by 50 kopecks simultaneously.
We remind you that in July, Ukrainians bought a record amount of cash currency for 12 years – $2.775 billion. Net purchases were $1.117 billion.
It was also reported that over the past week the structural deficit of foreign currency decreased in the interbank market – the NBU sold $784.63 million. This is 17.4% lower than last week.
