Gazprom’s losses almost doubled in six months

Losses of the Russian gas monopoly have increased due to cuts in gas supplies to Europe, while the company’s operating costs remain high.

Russian company PJSC Gazprom completed the first half of 2024 with a loss of 480.64 billion rubles, which is almost twice as much as in the same period in 2023 (255 billion rubles). This is discussed in the company’s reporting, report enkorr.

Gazprom dividends are calculated on the consolidated profit of the group according to international standards (IFRS), which, in addition to the gas business, also includes the oil, energy and LNG divisions.

Losses of the Russian gas monopoly have increased due to cuts in gas supplies to Europe, while the company’s operating costs remain high.

Let us remind you that Russian Gazprom in 2023, it received a net loss of 629.1 billion rubles (about $6.8 billion) after a net profit of 1.23 trillion rubles (about $13 billion) the previous year.

As reported, Russian Gazprom until 2035, the volume of gas sales lost after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and sanctions is unlikely to be recovered.
