SBU counterintelligence officers together with the National Police detained the attacker after he threw a Molotov cocktail at the wall of the military registration and enlistment office and recorded the fire on his phone camera. The enemy agent turned out to be a 17-year-old Odessa resident who came to the attention of the FSB this spring because of his search for quick money on the Internet. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
It turned out that on one of the websites the young man posted his resume, to which a representative of the Russian special services responded. The guy was offered to set fire to military infrastructure facilities and Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles.
First, the newcomer was given several test tasks, which he completed in Odessa. After that, the attacker was sent to the Vinnytsia region to set fire to the TCC building. Then he had to continue the series of arsons in Zhitomir.
The detainee has already been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 113 (sabotage committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us recall that in the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers detained arsonists of the medical service vehicle of the Third Assault Brigade. The perpetrators turned out to be a couple from the Cherkasy region, who on July 29 in Petropavlovsk Borshahivka doused three vehicles with a flammable solution and set them on fire. One of them belonged to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the other two volunteers were supposed to hand over to the military.
