In the interbank market, the American currency fell in price by 12 kopecks – to 41.37-41.39 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
The National Bank of Ukraine significantly reduced the exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia on the first working day of the week. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Monday, July 22.
Thus, the official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at 41.3369 UAH per dollar (-0.1543 UAH). Thus, the dollar retreated from its historic high.
In turn, the euro fell more in price and tomorrow will be worth 44.9952 UAH (-0.1908 UAH).
In the interbank market, the American currency fell by 12 kopecks to 41.37-41.39 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar remained stable at UAH 41.95.
Remind us that over the past week the NBU has increased sales of foreign currency by almost 80% – up to $950 million. This is significantly higher than the year-to-date average of $530 million.
As you know, recently the dollar exchange has regularly updated its historical record. Overall, in July the official exchange rate of the Hryvnia decreased by 2.6%, or by UAH 1.04. Since the beginning of 2024, the dollar at the official exchange rate has become more expensive by 9.2%, or by UAH 3.49.
Last Thursday, the NBU said that further growth of the dollar threatens price stability. Therefore, the regulator is ready to take the necessary steps to ensure the stability of the foreign exchange market.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers predicts a further increase in the dollar exchange rate. According to the Budget Declaration, in 2025 the average exchange rate will increase by 10% – up to 45 UAH/dollar. At the same time, the budget for 2024 includes an average exchange rate of 40.7 UAH/dollar and 42.1 UAH/dollar in December.
