In the first half of 2024, Boeing received orders for 156 aircraft compared to 366 in the same period last year.
American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has entered into an agreement with South Korean airline Korean Air to supply 20 777-9 aircraft and 20 787-10 aircraft. Boeing’s press service reported it on Monday, July 22.
The document was signed at the Farnborough Air Show. It also includes an option for 10 more 787 Dreamliners.
The start of supply of the Boeing-777-9 is scheduled for 2028.
In March, Korean Air placed an order for wide-body aircraft from Europe’s Airbus – six A350-900s and 27 A350-1000s. The Boeing 777-9 and Airbus 350-1000 are expected to “perform different missions.”
In the first half of 2024, Boeing received orders for 156 aircraft compared to 366 in the same period last year. Specifically, customers have ordered 101 737 MAX family aircraft, 42 777 series aircraft and 13 787 series aircraft from the company.
It will be recalled that Boeing has agreed to plead guilty to a criminal case related to two crashes of the Boeing 737 MAX in 2019 and 2018. The crash of the plane claimed the lives of 346 people.
