In the interbank market, the American currency fell in price by 2 kopecks, to 41.44-41.47 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
The National Bank of Ukraine lowered the exchange rates of the dollar and euro against the hryvnia after they repeatedly updated historical records. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Thursday, July 18.
So, the official exchange rate for Friday is set at UAH 41.422 (-0.0407 UAH). In turn, the euro tomorrow is worth 45.2618 UAH (-0.0839 UAH).
In the interbank market, the American currency fell in price by 2 kopecks, at 41.44-41.47 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
But in the cash market the dollar exchange rate immediately jumped by 25 kopecks – to 41.90 UAH.
Earlier on Thursday, the NBU said that the increase in the dollar’s exchange rate threatens price stability. Therefore, the regulator is ready to take the necessary steps to ensure the stability of the foreign exchange market.
In total, the cash dollar exchange rate has been growing for four consecutive months. In June, it increased by 1.7% to UAH 40.85.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers predicts a further increase in the dollar exchange rate. According to the Budget Declaration, in 2025 the average exchange rate will increase by 10%, up to 45 UAH/dollar. At the same time, the budget for 2024 includes an average exchange rate of 40.7 UAH/dollar and 42.1 UAH/dollar in December.
