Detainees bought ingredients for making drones capable of carrying explosive charges.
Three people have been arrested in Spain and another in Germany on suspicion of being part of a network that supplied the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah with parts to build kamikaze drones that could be used in attacks in northern Israel. AP wrote this on Thursday, July 18.
The investigation began in Spain when the Civil Guard discovered suspicious transactions by Spanish companies run by Lebanese citizens.
Detainees bought ingredients for making drones capable of carrying explosive charges.
The parts, obtained by the now-defunct network, were found in drones used by Hezbollah militants in attacks against Israel after the war began on October 7.
In particular, Spanish authorities believe that Hezbollah may have produced several hundred drones with these components.
Recently, 18 IDF soldiers were injured in a Hezbollah drone attack.
Earlier, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that the moment was “approaching” the announcement of the country’s full-scale war against Hezbollah.
