The average dollar selling rate increased by 25 kopecks – to 41.90 UAH, and the euro exchange rate immediately jumped by 40 kopecks – to 45.85 UAH.
The hryvnia exchange rate continues to decline rapidly against the dollar and euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Thursday, July 18.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by 25 kopecks – to 41.90 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate immediately jumped by 40 kopecks – to 45.85 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.20 Hryvnia, and euros for 45.00 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is now at the level of 41.43-41.46 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 3 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
In turn, the National Bank yesterday increased the dollar to Hryvnia exchange rate to another historic high – UAH 41.4627 (+0.2052 UAH). The euro is worth 44.9789 UAH (+0.3668 UAH). This is also a new record.
Earlier on Thursday, the NBU said that the increase in the dollar’s exchange rate is fraught with price instability. Therefore, the regulator is ready to take the necessary steps to ensure the stability of the foreign exchange market.
In total, the cash dollar exchange rate has been growing for four consecutive months. In June, it increased by 1.7% to UAH 40.85.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers predicts a further increase in the dollar exchange rate. According to the Budget Declaration, in 2025 the average exchange rate will increase by 10% – up to 45 UAH/dollar. At the same time, the budget for 2024 includes an average exchange rate of 40.7 UAH/dollar and 42.1 UAH/dollar in December.
