The claim was filed on July 8 at the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.
In May Bulgargaz warned that he would try to get compensation from Gazprom exports directly, and if negotiations are unsuccessful, he will file an arbitration claim.
The EU authorities included in their package of anti-Russian sanctions prohibiting the provision of legal services to Russian companies. According to Moscow, this makes it impossible to conduct a fair trial on the territory of EU countries.
Russian courts have already made several decisions banning European counterparts Gazprom conduct proceedings in foreign courts and arbitration institutions.
We remind you that the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy is preparing an arbitration claim against the Russian monopolist Gazprom for the suspension of gas supplies in April 2022 after Bulgaria refused to pay in Russian rubles.
Bulgaria also introduced a tax on Russian natural gas passing through its territory.
As reported in June Gazprom increased the average daily supply of gas in Europe by almost 23% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
