Ukraine received a tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) of $2.2 billion. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this on Telegram on Wednesday, July 3.
“This is part of the funds provided for the $16 billion EFF program. To get them, Ukraine has done an important task and successfully passed the fourth revision of the program – for the first time in our bilateral relationship with the IMF,” the leader. of the Cabinet wrote.
According to Shmygal, this tranche will help the government finance critical budget expenses, social benefits, salaries of doctors and teachers.
Earlier, the IMF published an updated memorandum on Ukraine, the fulfillment of the conditions of which will determine additional support for Ukraine.
The IMF has also reportedly worsened its forecast for Ukraine’s GDP.
