The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine fell to 40.85 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate fell to 44.15 hryvnia.
The hryvnia ends the working week with growth against the dollar and the euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Friday, June 21.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine fell by another 5 kopecks to 40.85 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate decreased by 10 kopecks to 44.15 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices bought dollars for an average of 40.35 UAH, and euros for 43.45 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 40.43-40.46 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 5 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
Last day, the National Bank reduced the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia for the fifth consecutive day – to the level of UAH 40.5184 (-0.0197 UAH). In turn, the euro today is worth 43.4276 UAH (-0.1468 UAH).
Earlier, the National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
And last week it became known that the NBU lowered the discount rate for the third time in a row. Such a step will contribute to a further revival of lending, which is important for economic recovery, assured the regulator.
