Road cargo transportation between Ukraine and the European Union will no longer require special permits.
Ukraine and the European Commission have extended the “transport visa-free regime” for one year with the possibility of its automatic extension until the end of 2025. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this on Telegram on Thursday, June 20.
According to him, road cargo transportation from Ukraine to the EU and from the European Union to Ukraine will no longer require special permits. At the same time, the updated agreement provides for a number of mutual obligations regarding the availability of licenses for the transportation and marking of trucks.
“Visa-free transport” has strengthened our economy. Within a year and a half of the agreement, Ukraine exported 48% more goods to the EU than in the same period before its signing… “Visa-free” contributes to the -imports, which increased by 44%. These are, in particular, goods and components necessary for Ukrainian manufacturers to establish the production process,” Shmygal wrote and thanked European partners for their support and solidarity.
As you know, today Ukraine has a transport visa-free regime with 35 countries, including the states of the European Union.
Earlier, Ukraine proposed to the EU to extend the “transport visa-free regime” for one year without changes. Poland, Slovakia and Hungary have comments on this.
