The Cabinet of Ministers approved a grant program to support the development of the IT sector and start-ups in the field of high technologies. This was announced on Friday, June 24, by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, reports the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Thus, the state will provide from UAH 750 thousand to UAH 3.5 million for the associated startups. The Ukrainian Startup Fund will administer this program.
“The main funding criterion is the creation of five jobs, as well as an emphasis on developing new technologies and solutions,” Shmyhal said.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers launched the Start in IT program – the provision of scholarships in the amount of up to UAH 30 thousand. to train and acquire the skills of a junior developer, data analyst or graphic designer.
“This program is not for students and not for IT professionals. This program is for people with previous work experience, but now, for example, they have lost this job or are in idle time and wants to learn new skills for a new career.The state provides such an opportunity.It specialists have become a real middle class in Ukraine in recent years, so we are interested in their number just rising, “said the prime minister.
It was noted that money under the Start in IT program can only be spent on paying for a school or courses to be determined by the Ministry of Digital Transformation. In general, according to the head of government, the state will provide the opportunity to start a career in IT for 60,000 Ukrainians. The total budget of the program is UAH 1.8 billion.
It was also reported that the government this week presented six grant programs. This is the basis of a large eJob project that will allow anyone with the desire, skills and plan to start their own business, expand their small or medium business, and also start a new career. Recall that earlier the Cabinet announced a new economic strategy: the state will provide non-refundable funds to create thousands of new micro-enterprises.
