It is already called “file of Ukrainians”. Brussels is quietly developing a file based on the Eurodac fingerprint processing model, but designed specifically for beneficiaries of temporary protection. Eurodac alone already includes more than 5 million name files. However, this massive information system is limited to applicants for asylum and subsidiary protection, as well as illegal migrants who have been verified and are in the EU.
The specific case of beneficiaries of temporary protection (to be distinguished from subsidiary protection) has not yet been technically fully taken into account by the authorities responsible for the registration of foreigners in Europe, as this protection mechanism was never activated before the Ukrainian crisis.
