The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food has improved the forecast for the harvest of grains and oilseeds, as well as their exports in the new marketing year. The press service of the department reported this on Friday, June 14.
The updated forecast provides for a grain yield of about 56 million tons. Of these, wheat – 21 million tons, barley – about 5 million tons, corn – 28.5 million tons.
Total grain exports are expected at 43 million tons. In particular, wheat – 15 million tons, barley – 2.5 million tons, corn – about 25 million tons.
Oilseed production is expected to reach 22 million tons. Specifically, 4 million tons of rapeseed, about 13 million tons of sunflowers, and 5 million tons of soybeans are expected.
Exports of oilseeds and their processed products are expected to exceed 17 million tons.
In total, in the next marketing year (July 2024 – June 2025), Ukraine can export more than 60 million tons of grains and oilseeds and their processed products.
We remind you that due to a large-scale war in Ukraine, about 30% of the total potential of the agricultural sector has been destroyed, another 20% of agricultural land is under occupation.
From the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region, Russian companies exported at least 30 thousand tons of agricultural products and earned more than six million euros.
