The National Bank of Ukraine raised the dollar-hryvnia exchange rate to a new historic high. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Thursday, June 13.

The official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at UAH 40.6908. for 1 dollar (+0.2467 UAH). The previous record was June 3 – 40.5373 UAH/dollar.
In turn, the euro exchange rate also rose sharply and will reach UAH 43.885 (+0.3530 UAH).
In the interbank market, the American currency jumped by 26 kopecks to 40.76-40.78 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
At the same time, in the cash market the dollar exchange rate increased by 5 kopecks to 40.95 hryvnia.
Earlier, the National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
And now it became known that the NBU reduced the discount rate for the third time in a row. Such a step will contribute to a further revival of lending, which is important for economic recovery, assured the regulator.
