Companies will work to restore and maximize capacity damaged as a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
DTEK Group and the American corporation Honeywell signed an agreement to deepen cooperation for the development of energy infrastructure in Ukraine. The Ukrainian company announced this on Wednesday, June 12.
“The memorandum of strategic cooperation, signed at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, creates a framework that will allow companies to contribute to the strengthening of the Ukrainian energy sector, expanding the energy storage capabilities of DTEK and introducing advanced solutions in the field of oil and gas processing,” the statement said.
DTEK recalled that their cooperation with Honeywell began in May 2021, when the companies launched Ukraine’s first energy storage system at Energodar.
The new agreement was signed by DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko and Przemek Schuder, President of Honeywell in Central and Eastern Europe, in the presence of Geoffrey Pyatt, US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources.
“Our power grid is under constant threat, and I am very grateful to Honeywell for its unwavering support in restoring and building a new power grid. I am confident that the expanded partnership with Honeywell will mark a new stage in Ukraine’s recovery process and strengthen its energy, security and economic potential.” , said Timchenko.
According to the terms of the memorandum, DTEK and Honeywell agreed to work to restore and maximize damaged capacity as a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Work will also be carried out to introduce Honeywell’s energy storage systems in our country.
Earlier, DTEK said help from the international community was needed to restore the energy system. At the same time, the company aims to restore the power units of thermal power plants as much as possible before winter.
It was also reported that since the beginning of the war, all DTEK thermal power plants have received major blows and gone through a complete shutdown.
