The hryvnia exchange rate continues to decline against the dollar at exchange offices, but has strengthened slightly against the euro. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Tuesday, June 11.

The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 10 kopecks – to 40.90 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate fell by 5 kopecks – to 44.35 Hryvnia.

Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 40.40 UAH, and euros for 43.55 UAH.

In the interbank market, the American currency is now at the level of 40.49-40.52 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 3 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.

Yesterday, the National Bank increased the dollar exchange rate against the Hryvnia for the third day in a row – to the level of UAH 40.4246 (+0.1761 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 43.4726 UAH (-0.3983 UAH).

Earlier it became known that in May, Ukrainians bought a record amount of money. The currency’s buying volume exceeded its sales volumes by $1.04 billion.

In this regard, the National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
