This morning, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by 15 kopecks to 40.80 Hryvnia, and the euro rate increased by 5 kopecks to 44.40 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 40.30 UAH, and euros for 43.60 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 40.22-40.26 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 3 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
Last Friday, the National Bank of Ukraine increased the dollar exchange rate for Monday to the level of 40.2485 UAH (+0.0948 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 43.8709 UAH (+0.2439 UAH).
Let us remind you that last week the hryvnia mainly strengthened, but in recent days the dollar continued its growth and again approached historical highs.
The National Bank also explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
