With an average monthly electricity consumption of 170 kWh, the payment for electricity will increase by 285 hryvnias, the Ministry of Energy said.
The Cabinet of Ministers increased the cost of electricity for the population from June 1, 2024. This was learned at a government meeting on Friday, May 31.
The new electricity tariff for the population will now be constant and will amount to 4.32 UAH/kW. At the same time, today it is 2.64 UAH/kW.
The new tariff is expected to take effect from June 1, 2024 to the end of April 2025, i.e. less than a year.
The Ministry of Energy clarified that the “night tariff” (with the appropriate two-zone meter installed) will be 2.16 UAH per kWh.
In addition, during the heating period (from October 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025), a preferential tariff is provided for consumers using electric heating installations at the level of 2.64 UAH/kWh (if they consume up to 2000 kWh of electricity during this period per month).
“With an average monthly electricity consumption of 170 kWh, the payment for electricity will increase by 285 hryvnias,” the department said.
We remind you that from June 1, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers increased the electricity bills for the population to 2.64 UAH/kWh. And on June 30 last year in Ukraine, the price of electricity for business increased significantly.
A few days ago it became known that in Ukraine the maximum price of electricity for business has increased. They will also start operating on June 1.
Tariffs for the population were not changed, but this issue reappeared on the agenda after the Russian strikes on the Ukrainian energy sector this spring. Most of the thermal power plants were disabled, and several hydroelectric power stations were also damaged. The government plans to get additional funds for the repair and restoration of energy facilities by increasing the tariff.
