The National Bank of Ukraine again raised the exchange rate of the dollar and euro against the hryvnia to historic highs. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Tuesday, May 28.

The official dollar exchange rate for tomorrow is set at UAH 40.3958 (+0.0946 UAH). This is the sixth record. The dollar has been increasing in price for more than a week and has grown by 97 kopecks during this period (from 39.4272 UAH/dollar on May 20).
In turn, the euro rate increased further and on Wednesday it was worth UAH 43.9708 (+0.2118 UAH).
In the interbank market, the American currency added 13 kopecks in value – 40.40-40.43 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar exchange rate increased by 20 kopecks to 40.75 UAH/dollar.
Earlier, the NBU explained the increase in the dollar exchange rate by the continuation of international aid to Ukraine. This influenced the increase in budget expenditures.
And the Verkhovna Rada believes that the decrease in the hryvnia corresponds to the planned indicators included in the state budget of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, participants in the financial market believe that the main reason for the devaluation of the Hryvnia is the political decision of the NBU, the time of which has come.
