The court arrested the trawler “Buhta Sokolovskaya” in May 2023. The ship was built in Nikolaev.
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) recovered in favor of the state of Ukraine the fishing trawler “Sokolovskaya Bay”, belonging to the sanctioned Russian oligarch Alexander Verkhovsky. The cost of the ship is about 1 billion hryvnia, Deputy Minister of Justice Inna Bogatykh said on Facebook on Tuesday, May 28.

It is known that this ship is located on the territory of Ukraine. The trawler is indirectly (through the company) owned by Alexander Verkhovsky, who from 2012 to 2017 was a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
In 2014, Verkhovsky voted for the introduction of Russian troops into Ukraine. And at the beginning of 2023, he announced his support for a full-scale military invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine. The oligarch is part of the Kremlin’s inner circle.
“I am glad because another asset of those who supported the invasion was transferred to the state revenue of Ukraine. We are waiting for the appeal – 5 days, and then the State Property Fund will prepare the asset for sale, the money from which . will supplement the state budget,” added Bogatykh.
The court arrested the ship in May 2023. Before the full invasion of the Russian Federation, it was completed at a shipyard in Nikolaev.
We remind you that Ukraine will sell a sanctioned plant for the first time. The PentoPak company was confiscated from the family of Russian-Greek oligarch Ivan Savvidi. The starting price is 203.7 million hryvnias.
