Another 20% of agricultural land is under occupation;
Due to a large-scale war in Ukraine, about 30% of the total potential of the agricultural sector has been destroyed, and another 20% of agricultural land is under occupation. This was announced by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food Viktor Kantsurak, the press service of the ministry reports.
It was also reported that large areas were mined or contaminated with explosives.
In an online workshop on financing small and medium-sized agricultural producers, Kansurak emphasized that the issue of providing financing and support for agricultural producers is more relevant than ever.
He recalled that the State Agrarian Register and the Fund for Partial Guarantee of Loans in Agriculture were created to solve this problem.
Partial Loan Guarantee Fund board member Inessa Andrietti said that a survey of more than 2 thousand small farmers showed that most of the plans to expand production and attract investment. 56% of agricultural producers want to increase their area, 53% – to get loans for the purchase of land.
It was previously reported that the pace of demining of agricultural land in Ukraine has increased.
