Former NFL Star Tony Siragusa dies –

Tony Siragusa died, a charismatic defensive shot that helped Baltimore’s strong defense to the Super Bowl title. He is 55 years old.

Siragoza’s TV agent Jim Ornstein confirmed the death Wednesday. The cause of death was not immediately known.

“It’s been a really sad day,” he said. “Tony is more than just my client, he’s family. I feel sorry for Tony’s loved ones”.

Siragoza, known as the “Goose,” played seven seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and five with the Ravens. The Baltimore 2000 team won the Super Bowl behind defense, which included Siragusa, Ray Lewis and Sam Adams.

Siragusa is popular with fans because of his loving personality, which also helped him quickly switch to broadcasting after a gaming career.

Siragusa came to Baltimore as a free agent in 1997 and worked with Adams to create an impressive defensive tandem. In the 2000 Ravens championship season, the 6-foot-3, 40 340-pound Syracuse was sixth among Baltimore defenders with 75 shots.

He finished his career in 22 positions.

News of Siraguza’s death spread on a day that turned tragic for Ravennae. The death of Baltimore defender Jaylon Ferguson was announced at the age of 26.
