The interbank exchange rate exceeded 40 hryvnia for the first time. If it stays at this level during the day, the value of the NBU will also be above 40 UAH/USD.
The hryvnia ends the working week with a decline against the dollar and the euro both on the cash market and the interbank market. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to monitoring data on Friday, May 24.
Thus, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 10 kopecks, to 40.25 UAH, the euro exchange rate also increased by 10 kopecks, to 43.75 UAH.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 39.75 UAH, and a euro for 43.05 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 39.98-40.02 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 3 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
“The exchange rate in the interbank market for the first time exceeded 40 hryvnia If it remains at this level during the day, the official rate of the NBU will be more than 40 UAH/dollar,” said the message.
The previous day, the National Bank again raised the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate to a historical maximum of UAH 39.9205 (+0.0955 UAH). The previous maximum was recorded just one day ago, on May 23 – UAH 39.8250.
In turn, the euro today is worth 43.3137 UAH (+0.2031 UAH). This is also the maximum. The previous high was set on May 22 – 43.2643.
We remind you that since the beginning of 2024, the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar has fallen by 6%. The Verkhovna Rada said that it corresponds to the planned indicators included in the state budget of Ukraine.
Earlier, the NBU explained the increase in the dollar exchange rate due to the restoration of international aid to Ukraine. This influenced the increase in budget expenditures.
