The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased to 40.05 Hryvnia, and the euro increased to 43.50 Hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate fell again against the dollar and euro on the cash market. The American currency exceeded 40 hryvnia for the second week in a row, reports RBC-Ukraine, citing tracking data on Tuesday, May 21.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 5 kopecks – to 40.05 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate also increased by 5 kopecks – 43.50 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 39.55 Hryvnia, and a euro for 42.80 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 39.68-39.72 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 3 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
The previous day, the National Bank sharply increased the exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia to the level of 39.665 UAH (+0.2378 UAH). The euro is worth 43.0802 UAH (+0.3253 UAH). This is a new all-time high. The previous record was set on May 16 – 42.8501.
Remind us that over the past week the dollar exchange rate has decreased in the interbank market, and the NBU has reduced the sale of foreign currency to $490 million, which is 8% less than last week ($533 million).
In general, over the past week the official dollar exchange rate has decreased by 30 kopecks – from 39.72 to 39.42 UAH/dollar. In the cash market, the dollar fell below 40 hryvnia.
