Gazprom Export stopped supplying gas to Bulgaria at the end of April 2022, roughly two months after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Bulgarian company Bulgargaz plans to file a lawsuit against Russian company Gazprom Export demanding compensation of more than $200 million for stopping gas supplies to Bulgaria. Novinite reported it.
It was noted that Gazprom Export stopped gas supplies to Bulgaria at the end of April 2022, approximately two months after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Let’s recall that the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy is preparing an arbitration claim against the Russian monopolist Gazprom for the suspension of gas supplies in April 2022 after Bulgaria refused to pay in Russian rubles.
Bulgaria has also reportedly introduced a tax on Russian natural gas passing through its territory.
