Rheinmetall will manufacture air defense systems in Ukraine

In all likelihood, it will be at least a year before production begins. As a matter of fact, there is no memorandum of understanding or joint venture creation documents yet.

The German defense concern Rheinmetall intends to open a joint production of air defense systems in Ukraine. Related statement Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger did the day before.

In particular, he announced at the annual general meeting that they plan to create another joint venture with Ukraine in the field of air defense.

It is noted that it will likely be at least another year or even two before production begins. As a matter of fact, there is no memorandum of understanding or joint venture creation documents yet.

Papperger also said that the previously promised 40 Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine before September of this year.

It was previously known that Rheinmetall plans to build at least four factories in Ukraine where they will produce weapons.
