Among other things, the arbitration proceedings concern OMV’s share of the Yuzhnorossiysk gas field.
Austrian oil and gas company OMV has initiated international arbitration proceedings to protect its rights to Russian contracts. Gazprom. This was announced by the company’s CEO Alfred Stern in an interview with APA.
According to him, several arbitration proceedings have been initiated to protect the rights of OMV.
Among other things, it concerns OMV’s shares in the Yuzhno-Russian gas field, which were de facto confiscated by order of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and transferred to Russian companies.
Stern also responded to the fact that in recent weeks Gazprom initiated proceedings in the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg against OMV.
“We consider these processes illegitimate and do not recognize the jurisdiction of the St. Petersburg court, because we entered into an agreement on how and where possible disputes should be resolved,” he said.
Earlier, the Austrian government said the country should study and implement all options for ending the “slavery” contract for gas supplies between OMV and Gazprom.
We reminded you earlier Gazprom filed a claim with the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region against the Polish oil concern Orlen SA regarding the recovery of $935 million.
