New users can post without paying a fee for three months after creating an account.

American entrepreneur and owner of social network X (formerly Twitter) Elon Musk plans to charge new users of the platform a fee for publishing messages. Tech Crunch reported this.

New users can post without paying a fee for three months after creating an account.

According to Musk, charging a small fee to new accounts is the only way to stop the bot invasion. “Current artificial intelligence and troll farms can easily pass the test to see if you’re a bot,” he said.

Last October, social network X started charging new unverified users $1 per year in New Zealand and the Philippines.

New free users registered on the platform from these regions can read posts, but cannot interact with them. To post content, like, repost, reply, bookmark, and quote messages, they have to pay for it.

We remind you that the social network X still does not attract content creators to itself, despite significant efforts. X Elon Musk is significantly behind platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram from Meta Platforms.
