Seoul will give Ukraine more than $2.1 billion in aid to rebuild the country. Funds will be received for five years.
Ukraine will receive $2.1 billion in soft loans from South Korea, which will be used for reconstruction projects. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on Tuesday, April 2.
“These are funds from the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF). They will be received over the next five years,” the statement said.
Under the terms of the agreement, the governments of South Korea and Ukraine must identify candidate projects in close cooperation with each other.
The details of each individual project, the amount and terms of the loan will be determined in separate loan agreements concluded between the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the borrower.
Let’s recall that, according to media reports, last year South Korea secretly allocated about 330 thousand 155 mm artillery shells to Ukraine. This amount exceeds the number of ammunition transferred from all EU countries combined.
