Coal production at state-owned mines in Ukraine has exceeded pre-war levels for months. Since the beginning of the year, volumes have increased by 24%, the Ministry of Energy reported on Tuesday, April 2.

If in March 2022, 173 thousand tons were produced in the state’s coal mining enterprises and this figure decreased for a long time, then in January 2024, production reached 178 thousand tons of coal, in February – 197 thousand tons, and at the end of March, production amounted to 2 thousand tons is 24% more than in January, the report said.
The average daily production figure also increased. If in September coal miners, on average, mined 4.1 thousand tons per day, then in March – 7.1 thousand tons.
Thanks to the increase in coal production in state-owned enterprises, its reserves in the warehouses of energy enterprises are also increasing. By the end of March, almost 1 million 208 thousand tons of coal were stored in warehouses of thermal power plants and thermal power plants, which is 508 thousand tons more than the plan.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine exceeded the coal accumulation plan. This allows us to successfully complete the heating period.
