The exchange rate of the hryvnia fell sharply against the dollar in the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Tuesday, April 2.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar increased by 10 kopecks to 39.50 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate remained stable – 42.90 Hryvnia.
This morning, exchange offices buy the dollar for an average of 39.00 UAH, and the euro for 42.20 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 39.17-39.20 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 7 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank increased the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia after falling for three days in a row. The official rate is set at 39.0749 UAH per 1 dollar (+0.0775 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 42.1384 UAH (-0.0217 UAH).
Let us remind you that in March the dollar exchange rate increased by about 1 Hryvnia. The official rate of the NBU increased by 2.7%. This happened despite the fact that the foreign exchange deficit in the interbank market was not as significant at the end of 2023.
It was also reported that in March the National Bank increased sales of dollars by almost 20%.
