Ukraine’s real GDP at the end of 2023 increased by 5.3% compared to 2022, when the economy contracted by 28.8%.
Ukraine’s real gross domestic product grew by 5.3% last year, after falling by 28.8% in 2022. The State Statistics Service reported this on Thursday, March 28.
“Real GDP in 2023 increased by 5.3% compared to 2022. Nominal GDP reached UAH 6,537.8 billion,” the report said.
According to the State Statistics Service, in the first quarter of 2023, the decrease in real GDP compared to the same period in 2022 was 10.3%, after that in the second quarter it grew by 19.2%, in the third – by 9.6% and in the fourth it increased also by 4.7%.
Let’s recall that the previous Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said that by 2024 the government expects 5% growth in Ukraine’s GDP.
At the end of January of the new year, the Ukrainian economy grew by 3.5% compared to January 2023. In the first month of the new year, all major sectors of the economy showed positive dynamics.
