Wind and solar power plants provide additional electricity to the region’s power grid.
Thanks to the power of “green” energy, stabilization blackouts are currently not used in Odessa and the Odessa region. Energy holder DTEK announced this on Thursday, March 28.
“Green generation also helps us avoid outages – wind and solar power plants, which provide additional electricity. However, repair work continues at Ukrenergo energy facilities, and there are still network restrictions,” said Dmitry Grigoriev, General Director of DTEK Odessa Electric Grids.
At the same time, he added that if consumption increases in the Odessa region, restrictions may have to be applied.
To avoid this, DTEK calls to consume electricity sparingly: do not plug in energy-intensive devices at once, but use them one at a time and shift the operation of energy-intensive devices to the night.
The company assured that it is working with local authorities to improve the energy supply situation.
A day before it was reported that emergency power outages are being used in four regions of Ukraine. Among them is the Odessa region.
As you know, last week the Russians carried out a powerful attack on the Ukrainian energy system. The Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station was disabled, as well as all the generating capacities of Kharkov.
