The minimum amount for the sale of a yacht is at least 130 million euros. Profits from the sale will go to Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
For the first time in the history of Ukraine and in the practice of the Agency for Search and Asset Management, the start of the sale of a seized asset abroad was announced – the Royal Romance yacht of the former MP Viktor Medvedchuk. The ARMA press service reported this on Monday, March 18.
The meeting of the Commission for the competitive selection of the auction organizer is scheduled for March 20.
“We are already receiving applications from world auction houses. The winner of the competition will organize and conduct a public sale of this important lot and will go down in history as an ally in the victory over evil. And the one who will get the yacht by Medvedchuk will deal a political blow to the Putin regime and will go down in the history of peace,” said ARMA head Elena Duma.
According to him, the funds from the sale of the yacht will go to the defense capabilities of Ukraine.
In the telethon, the head of the National Agency noted that the arrest period for the yacht expires in May, but ARMA is taking steps to ensure that it does not return to its former owner.
The Duma also clarified that the minimum price for the sale of the yacht is not less than 130 million euros – this is the insurance value at which the ship is valued.
Let’s recall that in February the Cabinet of Ministers agreed to hold a competition for the sale of the seized Royal Romance yacht, owned by Medvedchuk.
It was also learned that Medvedchuk in Russia became the owner of a new yacht worth more than $9 million.
