It seems that we are talking about preparations for the launch of a railway connection between Rostov and Sevastopol, says the Russian dictator.
The aggressor country Russia has apparently restored the railway line from the Russian city of Rostov to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Berdyansk. In the future, this railway will be an “alternative” to the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this on Monday, March 18.
“Just this morning I was told that the railway from Rostov to Donetsk, Mariupol and Berdyansk has been restored. We will continue this work, and soon the railway trains will go directly to Sevastopol, and it will be another alternative road instead of the Crimean Bridge ,” he told Putin at a concert dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the occupation of Ukrainian Crimea.
Let’s recall that in November 2023, Zaporozhye Gauleiter Evgeniy Balitsky announced the start of construction of a railway to Crimea. He admitted that this was due to the fact that the invaders were afraid to travel across the Crimean Bridge.
At the same time, the Zaporozhye OVA ensured that the “construction” actually existed only on paper: preparatory work was being carried out, but nothing more.
Later, Russia admitted that the railway to Crimea was only designed. Moreover, there is no final decision on the project yet, as the road section is located at a dangerous distance from the front line.
