This week, the National Bank of Ukraine significantly increased the sale of foreign currency in the interbank market. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Sunday, March 17.
In five business days, currency sales increased by more than $100 million, to $263 million. At the same time, only $370 thousand was bought, which is $22.7 million less than last week.
Overall, since the beginning of this year, the National Bank sold almost $4.6 billion in the interbank market, and earned only $71.4 million.
We remind you that this week, the official dollar exchange rate updated its historical record twice. On Monday the dollar was worth 38.7998 UAH.
Earlier it became known that in February, international reserves of Ukraine “lost weight” by almost 4% – up to $ 37.052 billion. Their volume was affected by the monetary interventions of the National Bank and the payment of the country’s debts.
It has also been reported that e-hryvnia will be tested in Ukraine. It will not replace the cash or non-cash form of the hryvnia, but will be a supplement to them, the National Bank assured.
