Consumer price growth in Ukraine slowed to 0.3% in February after rising 0.4% in January and 0.7% in December. This is confirmed by the data of the State Statistics Service on Friday, March 8.

On an annual basis, inflation in February eased to 4.3% from 4.7% in January. This is the lowest amount since November 2020, when annual inflation was 3.8%.
Over the past month, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in the consumer market increased by 0.4%. The price of vegetables increased the most (by 4.4%). Prices for beef, vegetable oil, milk and dairy products, soft drinks, rice, bread, fish and fish products, and fruit increased by 2.9-0.4%.
Prices fell by 3.5-0.8% for eggs, pork, sugar, poultry, sunflower oil, grain products, and cooking oil.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 0.7%, linked to a 1.4% increase in the price of tobacco products.
Clothing and footwear prices fell by 3.5%, including clothing by 3.5% and shoes by 3.4%.
Transportation prices decreased by 0.2%, mainly due to a reduction in the cost of rail passenger transportation by 2.1% and fuel and lubricating oils by 0.5%.
We remind you that by the end of 2023, inflation in Ukraine has slowed down to 5.1%. This is the lowest level since 2020, when consumer price growth was 5%.
It was also reported that the National Bank improved its inflation forecast for 2024.
