Tesla plant in Germany stops work due to arson – media

Due to a fire at a substation near Berlin, Tesla temporarily halted production. Environmental activists are suspected of arson.

Tesla’s plant near Berlin temporarily halted operations due to a fire at a substation, leading to power outages in several areas of the city. Bild wrote this on Tuesday, March 5.

It was learned that this morning there was a strong explosion at the Steinfurt substation next to the Tesla plant, which caused a fire.

The fire spread to the power line, causing a power outage. The plant, the city of Erkner and several areas of Berlin are in the shutdown zone.

The publication writes that a few days ago, about 100 activists occupied part of the forest near the Tesla plant. The company plans to cut down trees to expand its territory, but activists oppose it.

Recall that the American entrepreneur Elon Musk ceased to be the richest in the world after the shares of his company Tesla fell by 7% on March 4.

In January, Tesla recalled about 200,000 2023 Model S, X and Y vehicles in the US due to a software glitch.
