Has the magical Mazda CX-5 been updated yet again? Unbelievable! Here is the Japanese way of perfection, not in words, but in deeds! We are proud of our beloved Mazda and dive into the details.

As always, updating Mazda means a new interpretation of several important details at once. As you know, it is in the details that both angels and demons usually reside. But this time we found only one demon, and even a small one: the fact is that now the starting Touring package does not offer a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive – all CX-5s in it is exclusively front-wheel drive. But this is where horns, feet and tails end and pure angels begin.

First of all, we’re happy to announce that you can get all-wheel drive on the Touring trim level. Unbelievable, but it is true, because there are still a small number of pre-restyling Mazda CX-5s! However, we will look at the most interesting details of this “double” offer of Mazda’s most popular crossover later. In the meantime, let’s return to our main character – the updated CX-5.

There is another good news for you: the prices for the Mazda CX-5 did not increase significantly after the update. And if you consider the discounts, you can come to an interesting conclusion: you can now buy a new model in several trim levels for almost the same money as it was offered before the update. For example, the Touring package for production order starts at UAH 1,226,800. But if you choose a car that is already available in Ukraine or is on its way here, the price will be 1,168,900 UAH, while the average price for the most affordable CX-5 before restyling is 1,164,800 UAH.

And here’s another important detail: Mazda isn’t selling you canned goods. All cars, even with discounts, are produced exclusively in 2023. It should also be taken into account that the next update brought very interesting new items to Mazda’s bestseller.

But there is no need to theorize for a long time – let’s look at it with specific examples.

Initially we have the updated Mazda CX-5 in Touring configuration for UAH 1,168,900. For this amount you get a car that is already equipped with everything you need. LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob – of course, 6-speed automatic. The side mirrors are electrically adjustable and heated, and the interior mirrors are automatically dimmed. There will also be cruise control and dual-zone climate control.

But the main news is the updated MZD Connect multimedia system with HMI joystick and a large 10.25-inch TFT display. You will definitely feel the difference in the pre-restyling version, because there the screen is 8 inches. In addition to the larger screen, the updated multimedia system will offer an Apple CarPlay/Android Auto module. Note that in the initial configuration of the Tour and the later Tour S, this module was wired, but before the update it was not present in these trim levels.

But maybe a new multimedia system, despite its advantages, is not very important for you? In fact, if you do not experience any discomfort in communicating with an old multimedia device, then there is a great opportunity to save almost 50 thousand UAH! After all, as we have already said, now both versions of the Mazda CX-5 – updated and pre-restyling – are available at the same time. The latter in the Touring configuration is offered from only 1,119,000 UAH, and the Touring S – from 1,155,000 UAH. Because there are discounts!

So, you have realized that you can get serious benefit from this rather interesting situation of simultaneously having a pre-restyling and an updated model. And we return to the last, because everything new, of course, interests us the most.

So, the main advantage of the next Touring S trim level of the updated Mazda CX-5 is the ability to choose the type of transmission that suits your needs. Here, a two-liter gasoline engine (150 hp) can now be combined not only with front-wheel drive (from 1,208,800 UAH), but also with all-wheel drive (from 1,299,500 UAH). By the way, the all-wheel drive will bring branded LED daytime running lights, an AFS adaptive lighting system, as well as a keyless entry system, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning. And on the Touring S, the woven interior will be replaced with perforated eco-leather trim.

The next Style trim of the updated CX-5 is an all-wheel drive story only. In addition, along with a 2-liter 150-horsepower engine (from 1,372,100 UAH), a 2.5-liter 194-horsepower engine (from 1,426,600 UAH) is already offered. Please note that before the update there was no Style package, only Style+, which included only 2.5-liter all-wheel drive versions priced from UAH 1,482,300.

The interior is decorated with genuine leather with a combination of black artificial leather. And to the list of electronic assistants was added a forward tracking camera under the windshield (FSC), an updated forward and reverse city safe braking system (SCBS), and a driver fatigue monitoring system (DAA). In addition, you get wireless smartphone charging and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

After the Mazda CX-5 was updated, the Black Edition disappeared from the list of trim levels, and it would be bad if the new Sport Black did not appear in its place. It makes fans of black happy almost more than the Black Edition, because the black here blooms with new shades. For example, the wheel arches and lower body shine with piano black lacquer, and the signature radiator grille wing is painted black chrome. The image is successfully completed with black side mirrors and 19-inch wheels.

But, again, everyone has different tastes. If you really like the Black Edition package, you still have time to ride, as they say: there are still a few pre-restyling CX-5s left with Black Edition equipment, and there’s a good chance to get a cool black interior with red stitching.

However, note that the interior of the CX-5 Black Edition is trimmed with eco-leather with elements of faux suede, while the interior of the updated Mazda CX-5 in the Sport Black configuration has natural leather combined in artificial leather. , in a rather interesting new color: terracotta with black elements. The drive is four-wheel drive only, the engine is a top-end 2.5-liter 194-horsepower.

The Thor version of the updated CX-5 (from UAH 1,669,800) has exactly the same power offer, which is located at the top of the line and, as usual, is able to please visual, auditory and tactile sensations with an uncompromising level of luxury. The interior here is trimmed with exclusive Nappa leather combined with artificial leather. It was the same before the update, but it brought slightly different inserts and stitching on the seats – as they say, it’s not an acquired taste. It is best to go and check for yourself which option you like best – the new one or the pre-restyling. Such CX-5s are still in stock, and the prices are very attractive: from 1,599,900 UAH.

As before, only for the Top configuration you can order a sunroof (24,000 UAH). The audio system is from Bose, 10 speakers of unsurpassed sound quality, and only this configuration is reserved for additional electronic driver assistants. These are a lane departure warning system and a lane departure warning system (LDWS+LKA), as well as a highway safety braking system (SBS) and a reduced load on the driver during heavy traffic (TJA). And above all, you will have a 360-degree all-round camera system, which will be a great help for everyday use.

So hurry to choose your Mazda CX-5, updated or pre-restyling, because the attractive prices are valid only until the promotional cars find their owners. And what’s more, given the price level and perfection of the crossover, this is definitely not the case.
