Inditex, the Spanish owner of Zara, intends to reopen 50 of its more than 80 stores in Ukraine. The opening is planned for early April.
Retail chain Zara is preparing to reopen stores in Ukraine that it closed after the outbreak of war two years ago. It was reported by the Financial Times.
According to Inditex, the Spanish owner of Zara, the stores are scheduled to open in early April.
It is known that Inditex intends to reopen 50 of its more than 80 stores.
As is known, Inditex closed its 84 stores in Ukraine, including the Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti and Bershka brands, on February 24, 2022, the day of the Russian invasion. The company has stopped supplying goods to the country, but continues to pay taxes and salaries to its 1,000 Ukrainian employees, although most of them are at home unemployed. Inditex maintained lease agreements with the landlords when the stores closed, but did not disclose under what terms.
We remind you that in November last year, the operation of H&M stores in Ukraine resumed.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the department is working to bring back IKEA, H&M, Zara and other brands to Ukraine.
