COMINBANK, which recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its activities, continues to implement educational initiatives designed to open children to the history of Ukraine and introduce its outstanding figures.

For the birthday of Ukrainian poetess and public figure Lesya Ukrainka, COMINBANK, together with its partner, the Museum of the Formation of the Ukrainian Nation, prepared excursions and gifts for IDP children, managed by the ONUKY charitable foundation .

A new, but unofficial holiday is gaining popularity in Ukraine – Ukrainian Women’s Day. The date of its celebration could be the birthday of the outstanding Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka, so this event took place on February 25th. This outstanding woman made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and literary art. The figure of the poet personifies Ukrainian invincibility and the country’s historical desire to get rid of the imperial shackles on culture and public life.

In memory of the excursion, the children received a book by modern Ukrainian author Natalka Maletich “Lesya. Mandrivny ball.” He dispels stereotypes about the outstanding poet, reveals unknown facts about the childhood and adult life of the real Lesya, which is much more multifaceted than her official portrait.

Trustees of the ONUKY Foundation received another opportunity to touch the living history of Ukraine and meet its extraordinary figure during a thematic interactive interview and general tour of the museum’s unique exhibitions.
