The Supervisory Council of the Ukrainian Defense Industry, as part of the reform of the domestic defense-industrial complex, has already decided to form economic companies instead of 33 state-owned defense enterprises. The OPD press service reported this on Monday, February 19.
“In February, five more strategic state-owned enterprises that are part of the company became business entities. There are now 33 of them in total,” the statement said.
SA Ukroboronprom noted that the reform of the public sector of the defense industry opens the way to large-scale modernization of the Ukrainian defense industry, its technological renewal and makes the industry a driver for the development of the entire domestic economy.
“The transformation of the defense-industrial complex continues. We must become a modern arms company, built according to the best global standards of corporate governance,” said the CEO Ukroboronprom German Smetanin.
We reminded you earlier Ukroboronprom signed a memorandum with one of the leaders of the global arms community – the German company Dynamit Nobel Defense.
In October 2023 Ukroboronprom and the German concern Rheinmetall created a joint defense venture.
