In the first months of 2024, Japan became the largest financial donor for Ukraine. In the first quarter, its aid could reach $2.2 billion, the Ministry of Finance announced on Monday, February 19.

“Japan is one of the leaders in supporting Ukraine in all possible areas. Direct budget assistance is no exception. Japan has already provided support in the amount of more than $4.6 billion, including about $372 million in the form of of grants,” – said the message.
Funds from Japan for budget support were raised through five World Bank projects: PEACE in Ukraine, INSPIRE, ARISE, HOPE and Development Policy Loan. And also through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
By 2024, Ukraine expects to attract $37.3 billion from international partners for the social and humanitarian sphere.
We remind you that today a Ukrainian government delegation led by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal is visiting Japan. 56 cooperation documents in various fields were signed.
