Japan should be one of the leaders of Ukrainian recovery and investment in the economy, Denis Shmygal noted.
Ukraine and Japan signed 56 intergovernmental agreements and memorandums within the framework of the Conference on Economic Development and Reconstruction. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this on Telegram on Monday, February 19.
“56 documents were signed by representatives of Ukraine and Japan within the framework of the Conference on Economic Development and Recovery in Tokyo! Among them are intergovernmental agreements, memorandums, agreements between businesses and representatives by local authorities,” he wrote.
In particular, it is signed:

intergovernmental convention for the avoidance of double taxation;

more than a dozen agreements to support the reconstruction of Ukraine with powerful Japanese organizations (JICA, JETRO, NEXI Export Credit Agency and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation);

provide agreements for the implementation of restoration programs, as well as a number of documents between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Japanese companies providing for the provision of various agricultural machinery and equipment to Ukraine;

intergovernmental memorandum on cooperation in the field of education and technology

Naftogaz agrees to a wind energy project;

The operator of the gas transportation system of Ukraine signed a memorandum on preparations for the modernization of gas compressor stations.
Also, according to the prime minister, documents were signed in the field of energy, telecommunications, infrastructure construction and environment.
“Japan has already shown leadership in financial support for Ukraine. Now Japan should be one of the leaders in Ukrainian reconstruction and investing in our economy,” concluded Shmygal.
Earlier it became known that Japan purchased energy equipment for Ukraine with a total capacity of about 200 MW: five gas turbine units and seven large transformers.
