Akhmetov’s company noted that imported coal makes it possible to ensure the reliability of thermal generation, especially at peak electricity consumption.
“There are more than two months before the end of the heating season. So we are strengthening the energy front on both sides. On the one hand, we are maximizing production in our own mines. This is a priority for us. Two new coal faces were commissioned in January, and we are planning three more in February. On the other hand, we are accumulating an additional safety margin from imported fuel,” commented Ildar Saleev, General Director of DTEK Energy, on increasing imports.
At the beginning of February, it was reported that in January of this year, DTEK Energy’s thermal power plants increased their electricity generation to 1.5 billion kWh, which is 12% more than the same period last year.
