It is indicated that Metinvest, together with DTEK Academy, has developed and is introducing a training course for employees, called Heroes Are Nearby.
“Specialists in the field of psychology and personnel management, military psychologists, as well as veterans themselves participated in the creation of the course: they shared their experience and gave practical advice. As part of the first wave , the program covers 1,200 managers of the company’s businesses in the regions where it operates,” said the statement.
The press service called the veterans’ adaptation training course unique. It provides various training formats: electronic simulators, infographics, video lessons, etc. For this purpose, the best foreign corporate programs aimed at supporting veterans were used.
“The course consists of seven modules, designed for seven weeks. The modules contain practical step-by-step video lessons that help veterans adapt, understanding their needs and strengths. It contains recommendations on how to develop an effective conversation with a veteran in a specific situation, how to help him cope with negative emotions. You will be taught how to best help demobilized colleagues in socialization and adaptation , etc.,” said Metinvest.
It is hoped that an adapted version of the program will soon be developed for all Metinvest employees so that all enterprise teams receive appropriate knowledge.
The group said about 400 employees have returned to work after demobilization, and that over time more veterans will be employed at the businesses. However, they need time and support to recover from the events they experienced at the front and rejoin the work. In total, more than 10 thousand Metinvest employees passed through the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or are now in the army.
It was previously reported that Ukraine will apply the US experience in developing adaptation programs for veterans. In particular, the adaptation experience of Americans who fought in Vietnam will be considered.
It was also learned that DTEK holding has already implemented 182 projects with elements of inclusivity to simplify veterans’ return to civilian life.
