“This year we are finishing the second month of winter, having a stable situation in the energy sector. Last year we lived in conditions of constant restrictions and closures. Today, this is not the case in any region and not planned,” he said.
According to Shmygal, after 50% of the power grid was hit by Russian missiles and drones, large-scale repairs were carried out, adding 2.2 GW of power to the electricity sector. The capacity to import electricity has also been increased to 1.7 GW thanks to full synchronization with the ENTSO-E network.
The Prime Minister assured that the government will continue to support Ukrainian families and maintain preferential electricity tariffs for the population.
“It was and remains 2 hryvnia 64 kopecks per kWh. In sum, this winter the government does not plan to change any tariffs for the population,” added Shmygal.
Earlier it was found that the industry has increased drastically in electricity consumption. It contributed to the overall growth of the Ukrainian economy.
